Return To South Africa Hand Painted Cake

This cake is a double layer cake. The illustrations are hand painted on edible wafer paper. This allows for finer detail. Also, it can be painted in advance as it wont get stale.
I used photos from my April 2004 trip to South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe for this cake. This cake was $35.
Graphic of Cheetah Hand Painted Cake
The cheetah was in Chiefs Camp, in Botswana, in the Okevango Delta.

Graphic of bathing elephant Hand Painted Cake This was a huge bull elephant flossing his teeth with water weeds in the Zambezi River, at the border of Chobe-Chelwero Park, Zambia and Namibia.

Graphic of fishing eagle Hand Painted Cake This is a Fishing Eagle. A large raptor, they have been known to carry off and eat human infants.
